whenever i feel awkward or aloof, i always look for the feeling of "home" to comfort me and make me feel more attached rather than detached from the world. i never associated "home" with a place, but rather it's a feeling i get...in my case that is. actually, some things just instantly give me a home-y, comfortable, and nostalgic feeling.
10.
calculators. numbers never lie and that's what i love about it. 1+1 will always be equal to 2 . also, numbers are numbers and math is the same in every country. it never lies.
09. big bowl of
caesar salad with a handful of croutons (nothing more, nothing less) and a splash of hot sauce
08.
rotring pencil. this was the brand of mechanical pencil i took from my dad's suitcase and started writing with. yes, i learned how to write using a mechanical pencil HAHAHAHA!
07. a hot cup of
orange pekoe tea with a splash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar. YUMMMM. this is the kind of tea i saw people drinking and serving all the time in the middle east.
06.
elevators. obviously i'm not claustrophobic for me to add this to my list. again, i grew up in a concrete jungle. my childhood bestfriend was always just an elevator ride away. we lived in the same building at one point in our lives.
05.
pencil crayons. i was never the artist in our household, but my older sister sure is. pencil crayons remind me of the time i had measles over the holidays when i was around 3 or 4, and i was stuck in the hospital over the christmas season. she was left in the care of my aunts and i remember my aunt giving me a card she drew of especially for me.
04.
ferrero rochers. my mom's favorite chocolate, and my dad never fails to remember to buy it for her
03. my
gold, heart-shaped locket. my parents gave this to me when i was in grade 6 and i've had it ever since.
02.
children. their innocence and smile just warms my heart. i love their carefree nature and the way they live life as if it was all fun and games. it's refreshing how little their worries are, how the simplest of things would make them smile, and how the corniest of jokes would crack them up.

Hi,
I'm from a word of mouth marketing company called Matchstick and I’m currently working on the launch of L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes. I am contacting fashionable and hip female bloggers across Canada, hoping to involve them in this launch. I read through your blog and found that you would be a good fit for this program and was wondering if you might be interested. Send me an email if you are: danah [at] matchstick [dot] ca
