mario kart

when i was around seven, my parents bought my sister and i a gameboy. i'm only nineteen, but according to this generation of gamers and techies, that was roughly two decades ago and a lot has improved since then. i'm getting old i know. but as i was saying, the gameboy that we had was the original one, the first edition. it was the really thick grey gameboy that relied on batteries and cartridges. not small chips that contain games, but rather large cartridges that you had to blow on when dust collects within its crannies. i was never an advocate for video games or any other gaming console for that matter, and i think it's mainly because i get bored easily. i don't like the feeling of having to stare at the same screen for hours without end. i don't like the feeling of being static for long periods of time. anyways, what i'm trying to get at is that, when i saw this video, i couldn't help but feel nostalgic about the good old childhood days.

sam hart, the guy who composed the song, wrote about mario kart & love. as you would expect, the lyrics are somewhat dramatic and unapologetically romantic, considering that it was centered around a nintendo game. nonetheless, i find it quite adorable!

Verse1: You be my princess. I'll be your toad. I'll follow behind you on rainbow road. Protect you from red shells wherever we go, I promise.
Verse2:No one will touch us, if we pick up a star. If you spin out, you can ride in my car. When we slide together, we generate sparks in our wheels and our hearts
Chorus: The finish line is just around the bend. I'll pause this game so our love will never end. Let's go again
Verse3: The blue shell is coming, so I'll go ahead. If you hang behind, it'll hit me instead. but never look back, cause I'm down but not dead. I'll catch up to you
Bridge: Don't worry about Bowser or DK. Eat this glowing mushroom and they'll all fade away
Chorus: The finish line is just around the bend. I'll pause this game so our love will never end. Let's go again
Verse4: to the mushroom cup, and the flower cup, and the star cup, and the reverse cup...
walalalalala...walalalalalawaluigiiiiii

her lips,
they speak.

you can call me ES. i'm a vagabond. i like to wander, and so do my thoughts. rock, paper, scissors? i choose paper. i can express myself better through it. whether it be through words, fashion, or music, the important thing is to make a statement. be bold, be beautiful, be no one else but you.

i'm the queen of one-liners, or so i've been told// shoes always fit. numbers never lie. music is used when words fail. love is the great reversal. emotions are fickle. passion is consistent. God's love is constant. God instills passion.
