ever after

dear friend,

i've heard the stories. you've heard the stories.
the lonely princess is trapped in the castle's chamber, isolated from everyone else, left only with the company of talking doves. prince charming enters the scene and rescues lonely princess. he sweeps her off of her feet and they live happily ever after. caption reads "the end", credits begin to roll, and blackout. i've heard these stories and so have you.

i'm a sucker for happy endings because i think people should be happy. everyone deserves to be happy. however, we need to remember that beginnings don't skip to endings in an instant. there's always something in between. there's always something. conflicts happen because we need to know who can help us slay the fire-breathing-dragon or who can save us from the witch's perilous hands. conflicts happen because it teaches us to trust. it teaches us that our own efforts will always be in vain, that we can never overcome anything by ourselves. it teaches us to ask for help, to cry out from a distance, to search for a savior. with your faith and a savior's strength, you can conquer anything. this is why there's always something in between.

call me a dreamer, call me an idealist, call me whatever you like. but i believe happy endings happen...they really do. characters may be bitter, sad, and disheartened but the ending is always happy...expect it to be. when i mean happy, i mean satisfaction and contentment. despite the in-betweens of our life's tale, we always figure a way around it. a white horse always comes around.

prince charming is still wandering around the forest somewhere and that's alright with me. i'm not trapped anyway. i already found my saving grace and it's helping me write this fairytale. and you know what... it has a happy ending. i hope yours does too.

love,
es

her lips,
they speak.

you can call me ES. i'm a vagabond. i like to wander, and so do my thoughts. rock, paper, scissors? i choose paper. i can express myself better through it. whether it be through words, fashion, or music, the important thing is to make a statement. be bold, be beautiful, be no one else but you.

i'm the queen of one-liners, or so i've been told// shoes always fit. numbers never lie. music is used when words fail. love is the great reversal. emotions are fickle. passion is consistent. God's love is constant. God instills passion.
